The Tax Assessor works closely with the County Clerk's office. For your convenience, many of the areas covered on the Tax Assessor's website are also on the Clerk's website. Due to the Help America Vote Act, for the first time the Secretary of State's Election Division is authorized to verify voter registration logs (including social security and driver license numbers) from each county and from other states. This will help them: -ensure that voters are U.S. citizens -ensure that voters are not registered more than once The Secretary of State hosts seminars and election schools, provides calendars, ballot certification, Primary Election funding and assistance to the general public about voting.
